East Columbus Elementary is a vibrant learning community rooted in strong relationships, high expectations, and a deep commitment to student success. Our school serves a diverse and dynamic population, and we take pride in creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where every child feels seen, valued, and empowered. With a dedicated team of educators and support staff, we strive each day to ensure students are nurtured academically, socially, and emotionally.

Teaching and learning at East Columbus are driven by excellence, collaboration, and innovation. We implement high-quality instructional practices aligned to district priorities, including the HMH Into Reading curriculum, Ready Math, and data-driven small-group instruction. Through Walk-to-Read, Tier 2 and 3 interventions, PBIS supports, and enrichment opportunities, we meet students where they are and help them grow beyond expectations. Our teachers work together in Professional Learning Communities to monitor progress, analyze data, and ensure each student experiences meaningful, rigorous learning every day.

Family and community engagement are at the heart of who we are. East Columbus partners with organizations across Columbus—including Hexion, Operation Warm, Final Third Foundation, Feed the Kids Columbus, and more—to bring enriching programs and essential supports to our students. From family nights and cultural celebrations to our PBIS “Eagle Way” events and school-wide wellness activities, we believe in strengthening the connection between school, home, and community. Together, we cultivate a joyful school culture where every Eagle can soar.
